The importance of a health check before a massage treatment session
Before a therapy session starts it is important to identify any health issues that could be aggravated by the treatment. Conditions to watch out for include those listed below. It is really just a question of the therapy being appropriate and using common sense.
Existing conditions that should be considered before a massage:
- Recent inoculations
- Epilepsy
- Diabetes
- Heart conditions
- High or low blood pressure
- Surgery (within the last 6 months)
- Varicose veins / Phlebitis/ Thrombosis
- Bruising / Cuts / Open wounds
- Severe migraine
- Severe asthmatic conditions
- Circulatory Diseases / Advanced Heart Conditions
- High or low blood pressure if not medicated
- Varicose veins / Phlebitis / Thrombosis
- Osteoporosis
- Open or infected wounds
- Burnt / Heat sensitive skin
- Epilepsy
- Haemophilia
- Sprained Ligaments / Muscle Tears
- Sensitive / hyper sensitive Skin
- Cancer / remission before 6 months
- Pregnancy
- Loss of normal skin sensation
- Inoculations within 48 hours
- Contagious skin diseases
- Hypersensitve skins / sensitivity
- Eczema / Psoriasis / Dermatitis in the active stage
- Sore / Tender areas
- Pregnancy
- Circulatory Disorders
- Heart Conditions
- High Blood Pressure
- Muscle Tears
